How Can I Help?
You have reached your limit. You find yourself in a place between feeling too proud to ask for help and longing for the joy and contentment that others seem to have found in their lives. You aren't alone. The majority of my current and former clients struggled in silence for a long time, believing that they just needed to "be stronger" and push through on their own. When you are experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, or facing a major life change, it's not a matter of strength. It's a matter of finding the courage to ask for help. It takes time to build up the courage to reach out for support, especially from a stranger, but I am here to help guide you.

The therapeutic alliance is the cornerstone of successful outcomes in psychotherapy. You need to trust your therapist and feel heard before any progress can be made. For this very reason, I focus on creating a warm and welcoming therapeutic environment that centers on acceptance, empathy, and trust. My extensive background working in a range of settings allows me to effectively help with a vast array of issues. I am EMDR trained and tailor treatment to each client.
I'd love to see how I can help and look forward to speaking with you soon! I find that the best way for individuals to get a feel for my therapeutic style is to speak on the phone prior to scheduling an initial session. Please email me at erinsheffer@shefferpsychologicalservices.com to schedule a time to connect via phone.
